James CANTFIELD was convicted at Dublin, Ireland in 1839 for stealing potatoes. Previous conviction. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the ship ‘King William’ 1840.
Farm labourer; aged 22 yrs; single man; Roman Catholic.
Father: Michael CANTFIELD, already convicted and transported to NSW.
Ticket of Leave issued, Goulbourn district, NSW.
24 June 1846: Certificate of Freedom issued.
