Thursday last ended the Assizes, on the Crown side, when ... Ann Carey, for stealing out of the dwelling-house of Mr. Robert Cubitt, St. George's Colgate, a spotted silk handkerchief, and a muslin ditto, was sentenced to be transported seven years. Norfolk Chronicle, 8 Aug 1789.




NOTE Ann Carey was sentenced at Norfolk Assizes for a term of 7 years transportation on the 3/8/1789 for the theft of various items she departed Plymouth England 19/1/1790 aboard the " Neptune " arriving in Sydney 28/6/1790. SECOND FLEET SEE BELOW Eight other children were born to Ann & Theophilus. Married first husband Steven Gilbert on Norfolk Island in 1791, had 3 children. Married Theophilus Feutrill 13 Aug 1799 in Sydney, had She died in Launceston, in late Oct 1830.
