Family connections for Mary (Carroll) are: CARROLL Mary (Carroll) was born about 1783/93 & became a housekeeper. She was tried for larceny at Drogheda Louth co. Ireland in 1818 (perhaps March), sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict with 2children on 19 11 1818 after a voyage of 4months on ELIZABETH; she may have been sent to Female Factory. It may be she who is recorded at the Female Factory in 1821. She married Michael (Ryan his second relationship) of Wilberforce with permission on 29 3 1819 at St Johns CofE Parramatta & produced 5children. [Some details taken from this Website; where 2of the name are found-some of the information already on the Website appears to refer to the other & the date March 1818 & word 'oftler-(looks after horses)' & daughter age18 defy interpretation] ]The 2children mentioned here are perhaps shown in entry for Michael (Ryann) on this Website] Michael (Ryan) was born about 1773. He was convicted at Queens co. Ireland in 1801, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 7 7 1802 after a voyage of 7.5months on ATLAS: he was Catholic. He married firstly Elizabeth (Moody/Fagan) in 1823 (not shown in Smees records). He was Free by Servitude by 1812. He was living at Wilberforce in 1819. He is recorded in 1828 as living on 6.5acres in Hunter district with his family. He seems to have produced at least 12children in his lifetime.
