Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. Thomas Carroll, age 26, per Eliza II (1) 1827, tried 1827 at Limerick, Life. Offence, Firing houses. Whiteboy rebel. Native place, Limerick Co., single, trade: Farmers man. Catholic. ---------------------------------------------------- TO BE EXECUTED. Thomas O’Brien and Thomas Carroll, for assaulting, injuring, breaking into, and maliciously setting fire to the habitation of John Madigan, John Leahy, and Patrick Madigan, at Faha, in this county, the night of the 16th April 1823. —Death, on Saturday the 14th April next—— The principal witness in this case was an approver. The Jury were long time in deliberation. Both prisoners are very fine young men, and received good characters. Southern Reporter, 27 March 1827.
