National Archives of Scotland. 1820: Precognition against George Carscallion for assault and robbery. He was unemployed but his occupation had been a 'Watchmaker". A deserter from the Chatham Division of Marines. George was 5’7 ¼” tall, reddish brown hair, hazel eyes. Father and Mother in Dumfries. 15/11/1822: Was a Constable. 1712/1822: Drunk and disorderly whilst on duty – 50 lashes and to be dismissed. 9/8/1825: Colonial sentence, Hobart – 7 years. 1830 Muster: Assigned to Mr Haliday. 1831: Absconded from Mr Haliday and was apprehended 2 weeks later. 1832-33 Muster: Assigned to Mr Jas. Kelly. 1/7/1834: TOL 7/7/1834: Launceston QS – 7 years – sent to Port Arthur. 19/12/1844: TOL 19/2/1867: George died aged 79?? He was a Labourer and died of general decay. No marriage found.
