Assizes At Chelmsford, 14 prisoners were capitally convicted, and received sentence of death, viz. ... John Carter, for stealing a mare, the property of Shepherd and Joseph Stammers, and some articles of wearing apparel belonging to Ann Jennings; ... of whom the first three, Buttle, Ingersole, and Cole , were left for execution; the others were reprieved. Oxford Journal, 6 April 1811.

Having a dog in his possession unlicensed on the 14th May, fined £2. (D. Wentworth) May 25 1832. Slaughtering sheep for sale without a Licence, fined £10. D.W., Also, Selling meat without a licence, Case dismissed. D.W. On new book.
