Richard Carter, tried at Reading, Berks, 1 Mar 1790, seven years. --------------------------------------------------------------- Richard Carter, for stealing four ponies from Hursley in Hampshire, and selling three of them to Wm. Watty, of Ashampstead, and one to William Bedwin, jun. of Bucklebury ; Reading Mercury, 1 Mar 1790. --------------------------------------------------------------- At the assizes for this county, which ended here on Wednesday, Richard Carter and Robert Couldrey, for horse-stealing; ... were severally capitally convicted and received sentence of death.  Reading Mercury, 8 Mar 1790
