Date of permission,2 Mar 1837, Maitland district, Revd. G. Rushen. Robert Carter, per Norfolk, age 35, 7 years, Free, and Bridget Goulding, per Diamond, age 19, 7 years, Bond. Date of permission, 24 Aug 1838, Revd Henry T. Styles. Robert Carter, per Norfolk (1), age 35, 7 years, Free, and Bridget Goulding, per Diamond, age 19, 7 years, Bond. No date. COUNTY SESSIONS concluded. At Ipswich, which did not finish till midnight on Saturday the 17th inst. Robert Carter, for having in his possession divers goods knowing them to have been stolen; .... were sentenced to be transported for 7 years. Bury and Norwich Post, 28 July 1824.

Wednesday last James Broadway, Hubert Harvey, Robert Carter, John Blomfleld, and Robt. Gissing, were removed from Ipswich County Gaol, to the hulks s at Gosport, in order to be transported for 7 years. Bury and Norwich Post, 1 Sept 1824.




On 17 May 1837 Robert married Sarah HOLLINGTON (per "Numa" 1834)and together they had 13 children, all of whom lived to adulthood.
