The indentures state that Timothy Carthy was 41 years old. He could neither read or write: Religion Catholic: status married with 5 children and a native of Cork. He was a labourer. He was convicted off sheep stealing on 7 April 1828 and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 4 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair dark brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 104. He was assigned to the Woolloomooloo Road Party. He received his ticket of leave in 1833 (33/850) and his certificate of freedom in 1835 (35/484).
