The guard consists of Captain Bull (with Mrs. Bull, 4 children, and 1 female servant), and 30 rank and file of the 99th Regt., - 4 women, and 6 children. Colonial Times (Hobart) 25 Oct 1842.

Convict Notes
Robert Shanahan and James Casey were indicted for assaulting Thomas Collins, at Ballylooby, on the 6th of September, stealing from his person two £5. notes one £3. note, and two £l. notes. Thomas Collins sworn, and examined by Mr. Bennett, Q.C. —Knew the prisoners, whom he identified; was at the pig fair of Hospital on the 6thof September last; sold some pigs for which got 15/.; returned home about half an hour before dusk ; drank two dandies of pooch at the fair, four on his way home; was not drunk after leaving the public-house; on crossing the field home he was met by five men who him, one of them knocked him down with a gun and while down the others tore off his pocket and took the money from him; the prisoners were of the party ; the money folded in notes of two 5£., one 3£, and two single notes of 1£ each , they ran off after robbing and beating him and his nephew ; .... Verdict— Guilty. Limerick Reporter, 1 March 1842.
