Oxford Circuit. James Castle, aged 19, James Joyce, aged 23, and William North, aged 23, were charged with breaking into the house of James Akerman. Mr. WALESBY conducted the prosecution. The case which was one of a very ordinary description, was clearly proved against the prisoner James Castle, who threw one of his shoes with great violence at Ann Webb, one of the witnesses for the prosecution, and wounded her very severely in the face. The prisoner James Castle was again indicted for a burglary in the house of William Murray, and stealing quantity of flour, for which he was found guilty. Mr. Justice Park passed sentence of death upon the prisoner James Castle, without holding out the slightest hope that mercy could be extended to him.
