391 ton Barque. Built Liverpool. The Barque Arabian, under the command of Captain Robertson, left Kingstown, Dublin, 22 November, 1846, with 150 female convicts and 37 children on board. One woman and 7 children died on the voyage. At least 2 children were born during the voyage. The Surgeon Superintendent was Dr Wylie, R.N. and the Matron, Mrs Evans. The Arabian arrived at Hobart Town, February 25 1847.

Convict Notes
Anne Chapman .and Catherine Chapman, two remarkably ill-favoured women, were placed at the bar, indicted for stealing three geese and two ducks, the property of John M'Donald on the 4th October. They pleaded not guilty. From the evidence of a number of witnesses it appeared, that a house belonging to McDonald was opened by night, and the fowl taken therefrom, which were afterwards found in the possession of the prisoners. Guilty. The same parties were again indicted for stealing a tub, on the 5th October, the property of Edward Mullowney. They pleaded not guilty. Mullowney’s servant maid proved to the loss of the tub, and identified the one produced as being the property of her master. Sub-Constable Synnott proved that at a very early hour of the morning, when on patrol, he lay concealed near their house, and arrested them when returning to their residence with the tub and other articles their persons. WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH, 1868. HOUSEBREAKING AND ROBBERY. John O'Brien and Catherine Daw were charged with breaking and entering the dwelling-house of John Pearson Hobson, at Perth, on the 12th November, 1867, and stealing therefrom one coat and other articles, of the value of more than five pounds. A second count charged both the prisoners with receiving the same articles. The prisoner O'Brien pleaded guilty to receiving, the other prisoner pleaded not guilty, but was convicted of receiving.
