The Convict Indentures state that Catherine Doonican was 28 years old. She could not read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status married with one daughter and a native of County Westmeath. Catherine was convicted of stealing money at Westmeath on 23 June 1837 and sentenced to 7 years transportation. She had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 1/4 inches; complexion ruddy; hair brown and eyes blue. Transport number 75. Prisoner number 74-38. Received Certificate of Freedom in 1844 (number 44/1720).
