1830, 11 August: Bartholomew CAULFIELD was tried in the Colombo Supreme Court, Ceylon (see Irish Convicts to NSW). However, documents from the "Clorinda" call it the Supreme Court of Indicature, Criminal Jurisdiction (see New South Wales, Australia Convict Ship Muster Rolls and Related Records, 1790-1849; 1835 Clorinda). 1835, 21 April: Bartholomew CAULFIELD/CAWLFIELD per "Clorinda" was admitted to HM Gaol, Hobart Town, “while Clorinda remains in port”. On 25 April 1835, he was discharged and re-embarked on the Clorinda for the final leg of her voyage to Sydney from Ceylon (see Tasmania, Australia, Convict Court and Selected Records, 1800-1899; Register, HM Gaol Record Book - Alphabetical Register of Prisoners Admitted).




Native Place: Limerick Occupation: Soldlier, 97th regiment. Bartholomew was literate, RC, single, 5'6" tall, ruddy, freckled, and a little pockpitted complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, small scar over left eyebrow, another over right, scar right side of under, brown mole inside lower left arm.
