VDL CONDUCT RECORD: John Cavanagh was issued with a 1st Class Pass on 7 October 1845; a 2nd Class Pass on 23 March 1846; and a 3rd Class Pass for Launceston District on 26 May 1846 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-7$init=CON31-1-7p293). He also appears on the 1846 Muster as the holder of a 3rd Class Pass (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849; Tasmania Ledger Returns A-R 1846).


TRIED: On 8 March 1834 at the Lent Assizes with James Waters (also on board) for "counterfeiting silver coin". Both were sentenced to transportation for life (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892; England, Lancashire 1834). John Cavanagh was single. PRISON: John Cavanuagh [sic], 27, was received at the hulk Justitia at Woolwich on 10 April 1834 following his conviction on 8 March at Lancaster (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
