David Cawthorne was convicted at Salford on 01/12/1845 for stealing money. 7yr sentence. Again tried at Winchester on 26/02/1848 for burglary on the Isle of Wight (after absconding from Parkhurst)- tried for this offence with McIntyre, also on this voyage. 10yr sentence. Transported for the two offences for a total of 17yrs. To Van Diemen's Land on the 'Lady Kennaway' arriving 28/05/1851. Single; 21yrs; 5'5 1/4"; read & write; labourer; Church of england; fresh complexion; brown hair; blue eyes. Native place of birth: Stockport. Mother: Grace Sisters: Elizabeth, Hannah Brothers: William, Thomas & James 1851: Assigned to T. Brent, Roseneath. 1851: Paterson's Plains, Tas. 13/01/1852: Absconded
