Alfred was born about 1834. As a shoemaker single semi-literate Protestant he was tried in 1860 at Central Criminal Court for burglary & sentenced to 10years. He arrived in Western Australia on LINCELLES in 1862. He was 5'2" lt brown hair hazel eyes oval face fair complexion middling stout. He received his Ticket of Leave in 1863. He received his Conditional Pardon in 1868 at Champion Bay and in 1871 he was certified free. From 1864-68 he worked for himself.
