14/8/1813 Norfolk Chronicle Norfolk, England CAMBRIDGE, Aug. 11 At our Assizes, which ended yesterday, Miles Chapman, aged 44, for stealing a cart mare, the property of Mr. John Preston, of Emmeth, in Norfolk, was capitally convicte and received sentence of Death. Miles Chapman was 5'9½" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes. Colonial Secretary Index: CHAPMAN, Miles. Sources give birth dates of about 1763 or 1770?. He was a gamekeeper of Norfolk when sentenced, and religion was Prorestant. In 1822 Miles/Myles was employed by Dr (Townsend) of Liverpool. In 1823 he had his Ticket of Leave & was a labourer in Campbelltown, as he still was to 1825. In 1828 he was at Piercefield, Hunter River head shepherd with William (Carter). He was said to be 65 at this time.
