Richard Chapman was transported on the Henry Porcher, departing 5th Aug 1825 and arriving 3rd Dec 1825 with 176 passengers.
1825 Journey. On Saturday morning (3 Dec) arrived from London and Dublin, the ship Henry Porcher, Captain John Thompson, with 175 male prisoners, having lost one man - the rest in good health. She sailed from London the 10th of July, and Dublin the 5th of August. The guard comprises a detachment of the 47th Regiment, under the orders of Captain Donaldson. The Surgeon Superintendent is Dr. CARTER, R. N. Sydney Gazette, 5 Dec 1825.

Richard Chapman was listed as 40 years old on arrival. Native Place: Roscommon County, Ire. Crime: Felony Harness. Richard was 5'7" tall, grey hair and eyes, florid complexion. Per "Henry Porcher", 1825: 1825 Dec 9: On list of convicts landed from the "Henry Porcher" and forwarded to Parramatta for distribution (Reel 6016; 4/3516 p.104) 3/7/1832: COF 1838: Cessnock Landholders Details: Purchased 50 acres at Stockyard Creek and 50 acres at Sugar Loaf between D. Dunlop's Mulla Villa and John MacDougall's 50 acres.




Richard was born about 1778. He arrived NSW as a convict 14yrs Catholic on H PORCHER in 1825 & was later recorded in 1828 as government servant 14yrs from H PORCHER Catholic of Concord groom to Thomas (Walker).
