Convict Notes
SUFFOLK LENT ASSIZES CROWN COURT, Tuesday. Henry Foster and Charles Fenn were indicted for having on the 14th of December last, on a public way, assaulted and by force robbed and stolen from the person of William Southgate a watch and other articles, and cut and wounded the said William Southgate, with intent to do him some bodily harm. The prisoners pleaded not guilty…. Bury and Norwich Post, 7 April 1841. The report of the trial continues. On Monday last the five following convicts were removed from our gaol to be put on board the Warrior Hulk, lying at Woolwich : viz.,Henry Foster and Charles Fenn, to be transported for life : James Howe, for fifteen years ; William Mansfield and George Baalham, for seven years.
