Convict Notes
Charles Kilpin was transported for setting fire to stacks of straw and corn, the property of John Wilmer. Charles was a private in the 2nd Royal Regiment and previously worked as an Ostler for Lord Carrington. Charles was 5'8 ½" tall, brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, literate, stout, C K right arm. 26/7/1871: TOL 1/4/1879: COF at Newcastle. Known areas: Toodyay General servant, labourer, shepherd, groom. 1877: Married Louisa Tippett, Newcastle, WA. They had 10 children. 1889: Farmer at Bunstey Farm, near Wattening, WA. 1903-1910: At Toodyay, WA 10/11/1915: Charles died and was buried at Culham Cemetery, WA. 1916: Probate - £262 to Louisa Kilpin late of Bunstey Farm. 1939: Louisa died in the district of Northam.
