Convict Notes
SHIP NEWS March 29.— Arrived the ship Sarah, 485 tons, Capt. Whiteside, from London, 22nd, December, with 253 male prisoners. Lieut. Wootton, 44th regt, Lieut, North, 80th regt., 30 rank and file, 6 women and 7 children. James McTernan Esq. R. N. Surgeon Superintendent. Four men, supposed to form a part of the convicts who took away the brig " Frederick, " in 1834, from Macquarie Harbor, have arrived in the " Sarah," to take their trial for piracy. A conspiracy was discovered on board the " Sarah, " and one of the crew is to be tried for being concerned in it. The True Colonist Van Diemen’s Land, 31 Mar 1837.
