Henry Cheshire born about 1815 in Birmingham, England. Baptism: 20 November 1815 at St. Matins, Birmingham,Warwick England. Father:Samuel Cheshire-soldier Mother: Phoebe Clark After being transported to N.S.W. he was assigned to work for George Suttor at Baulkham Hills and remained with the Suttor family until at least 1837 when he is shown as assigned to T.E. Suttor at Bathurst in the 1837 Muster. He sentence was extended and he worked on the Hassans Walls near Hartley, N.S.W. possibly in a road gang. He was charge 16 March 1848 at the Bathurst Quarter Sessions for a new crime-found guilty and sentenced to 3 years on a road gang building the Newcastle Breakwater. He was released on 16 March 1850. We found records in the Sand's Directory showing him living at 5 Swan St., Sydney. From 1865 to 167 the Sand's Directory show Henry as a fruiterer living at 6 Swan St. where he lived for the remainder of his life. He married Annie Julia Stephens Williams, a widow, 4 March 1867. They had two children Henry Victor born 1868 and Edgar Stanley 29 October 1871. Henry died 25 Oct. 1886 and Annie 17 Aug. 1902. Edgar Stanley is my gggrandfather.
