sentenced to 3 months for larceny in a local Bristol UK prison when he was 12 years old. Then sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia in 1836 following theft of candles.




Henry was born C1820 and was the son of Henry Chidgey/Chiddy and Mary Griffiths. He was 14-16 years old when convicted. Crime not found. 1841: TOL 2/9/1842: COF 26/9/1851: Married Mary Brandon at St Johns, Campbelltown, NSW. They had 12 children. Mary was an Irish Orphan girl who was born in 1834 at Ballylongford, Ireland. Mary died 17/12/1902 aged 67, of Enteritis and Cardiac failure. They settled on a farm on Tin Kettle Creek. 8/6/1909: Henry died aged 89 at Picton, NSW. Both Henry and Mary are buried at Upper Picton.
