James Christian was a soldier in the 80th Regiment when transported for 'Desertion'. Previous convictions: Desertion, absent {3} or 4 days, once for absence and drunkenness imprisoned Branded {D} on left Side. James was single. 3/3/1842: TOL 21/2/1844: COF 6/4/1846: There is a departure from George Town to Portland per 'Lady Mary Pelham' - nothing to state this was this James Christian, but no further mentions or records of him in VDL after 1844.
