Daniel Claridge was convicted at the CCC, London in Oct 1840 for stealing money from a till. 7 yr sentence. Sent to Parkhurst Prison for Boys on the Isle of Wight - there for 2yrs 7mths. Further transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Mandarin' arriving 16 Oct 1843. Single; tailor and bricklayer; Protestant; can read & write. Native place - Bow, Middlesex, London. Brothers - Thomas & James, at native place Father - James Mother - Ha.... 1yr Probation at Browns River, VDL. Some notes of minor misconduct and also in 1847 stealing money. 6mths imprisonment. Free Certificate 8 Nov 1847.
