William Clark was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 29th Sep 1818 and arriving 4th Mar 1819 with 160 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

CRIMINAL COURT.— MONDAY.— William Clark was indicted for stealing a watch, upon two several indictments, and being found Guilty, was sentenced to fourteen years transportation to Newcastle. Sydney Gazette, Sat 25 Sep 1819.




Under list – Justicia Hulk. No 44. William Clark, Tried Surrey Ass. 6 Aug 1818, 7 years, age 24, native place, Bristol, House carpenter, 5ft 7, hazel eyes Dk sandy hair, fair freckled comp.
