The convict indentures state that John Clarke was 16 years old.  He could neither read or write; religion Catholic; status single and a native of Limerick.  He was an errand boy.  He was convicted of stealing clothes on 15 March 1828 at Limerick and sentenced to 7 years. He had no prior convictions.  Physical attributes - Height: 5 feet 1 inch; complexion ruddy and freckled; hair brown and eyes brown.  Transport number 158.
He was assigned to William Henry, Lane Cove.
