Convict Notes
JOHN HOPKIN, aged 20, THOMAS PALFREY, 40, JOHN CLARK, 24, and WILLIAM SIBBALD. 82, labourers on the Clarence Railway, were tried for stealing two pigs, in the neighbourhood of Norton. Pafrey was acquitted; but the rest were sentenced to 7 years’ transportation. Durham Chronicle, 8 March 1833.
