Margaret Clarke was convicted at Dublin on 9 Nov 1851 for Larceny - steal trousers and vest. 3rd conviction. 7 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Aged 30yrs; laundress; 4'11 1/4"; Roman Catholic; can read & write. Native Place - Dublin Assignments in Colony. Marriage to John Bratt 21 Nov 1853 Hobart. (ref. 37/1/12 523) (John remarried 1855.) Ticket of Leave granted 18 April 1854. Died, at her residence Hobart Town, 21 Nov 1854. (Disease of the ....) Indexed on record as "Brutt", should be "Bratt". (ref. 35/1/4 1578)
