Hobart Town Gazette, 15 Sept 1827 List of Runaways 480. Cleaver, Thomas, 5 ft. 2, dark brown hair, ditto eyes, aged 31, farmer's labourer and ploughman, tried at Northampton 1821, 7 years, born at Weedon, per Lord Hungerford, scar over right eye, one over left, man, woman, T B C C on right arm, absconded from the Road gang, St. Peter's Valley, in July last. Same rewd. (£2).




Thomas Cleaver was 26 years old on arrival in VDL. He was transported for "Stealing 4 fowls". Conduct record: States he tried to escape into the bush on two or three occasions and was given lashes. 21/11/1833: Committed to trial for a felony. Found no records after this.
