Convicted 22 July 1817 Lancashire Quarter Session Order Books: "Whereas James Clegg late of Oldham in the said County Laborer hath at this Session been convicted of Felony: This Court doth therefore order and adjudge that the said James Cleff shall be sent and TRANSPORTED to some Part beyond the Seas for the Space of Seven Years next, pursuant to the Statute in such Case made and provided."
