GLOUCESTER ASSIZES, Sept 1. Thomas King, aged 22, was sentenced to death for stealing in a dwelling-house above the value of 40s.; David James, aged 18; John Stone, aged 28; and Jacob Clevely, aged 28; were condemned to death for similar offences. When the Judge was proceeding to sentence of death, the horror of the immense multitude of spectators was most visible, and could not repressed. His Lordship intimated that he might expect some mitigation. Englishman, 6 Sep 1818.
