While originally sentenced to life, a Ticket of Leave was granted in 13/6/1842 after serving approximately 11 years. Thomas went on to marry twice, have 9 children, and live a respectable life as a farmer, butcher, and landowner in the Illawarra region of New South Wales. http://www.shellharbour.nsw.gov.au/FileData/PDF/CliffordThomas.pdf http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/i/l/Wayne-A-Hill/FILE/0001page.html
