The Convict Indentures state that Mary Coakley or Julia Kelleher was 23 years old. She could neither read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Cork. She was an house maid. Mary was convicted of stealing a coat at Cork City on 20 October 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had two prior convictions and served 6 months and 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 3 1/4 inches, complexion sallow and a little pock pitted; hair dark brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 12. Prisoner number 12-38.
