Catherine Coates was due to travel to VDL per Kangaroo with a group of 60 convicts who all were transported on the ship Catherine. However, she was one of three women, who, at the last moment did not go, due to being in a bad state of health and were relanded at Sydney, and three other women sent instead. https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON13-1-1$init=CON13-1-1p36 List of sixty female convicts embarked on board Kangaroo to land at the Derwent in Van Diemen’s Land, and their indents from the Catherine Convict ship. Sydney 24 May 1814. No 28. Catherine Coates, age 40, tried City of Dublin, Nov 1811, 7 years. (Name has been crossed out.)
