Berks Lent assizes. SYDNEY COCK. 20 & ANTHONY COCK, 22, charged on suspicion of leaving, on the 17th of December, the King's highway, robbed Thomas Prior of a yellow purse, one sovereign, two half crowns, and about ten shillings. and a bag containing about walnuts, the property of the said Thomas Prior. The said Cock also stands committed charged with having, at Cholsey, stolen a sheep, the property of Thomas Edward Washbourn. JOHN COCK, 60, charged with having received sheep, or some part thereof, property of Thomas Edward. Washbourn knowing the same have been stolen. Berkshire Chronicle, 25 Feb 1837. The following prisoners were omitted in the report of the Lent Assizes, in our last :-- Cock, 20, and Anthony Cock, 22, charged on suspicion of having on the of December inst. on the King’s highway, at the parish of Cholsey, robbed Thomas Prior of a yellow purse, one pound fifteen shillings, and a bag containing 350 his property. Guilty—Death recorded. Sydney Cock also stood charged with stealing a sheep the property of Mr. Washbourn—this case was abandoned. Reading Mercury, 4 March 1837.

Full name is Sydney Smith Cock and was brother to Anthony Cock, transported at the same time.
