Tidbit: George had two tattoos, an anchor and cable inside his right arm and an anchor and cable with the initials C.C and G. C inside his left arm. Seems that he had a difficult start in life, he left behind a wife and child in England, perhaps these were the initials of them or maybe his parents? I haven't been able to find out. He did die of mental illness - unfortunately this has proven to be a genetic factor in the male line in my family - I am George's great great great grand daughter. It doesn't matter to me what hid did, I wouldn't be here if he hadn't done it.
