Morning Post London, England 16 Jan 1827: OLD BAILEY.—Monday, Jan. 15 Mary Cockhead, aged 34, was indicted for stealing divers articles of Plate, &c, value 30/. and upwards, the property of John Housman.




Old Bailey: MARY COCKHEAD, 34, defendant name in trial of MARY COCKHEAD, Theft > theft from a specified place, 11th January 1827. Before Lord Chief Baron Alexander. MARY COCKHEAD was indicted for stealing, on the 27th of December, 6 shirts, value 3l.; 5 towels, value 15s.; 18 spoons, value 9l.; 2 pairs of trousers, value 2l.; 3 table cloths, value 30s.; 3 waistcoats, value 1l.;... Mary Cockhead was listed as 44 years old on arrival. Native Place: London. Mary was literate, protestant, married with 1 child, 4'10½" tall, sallow and pock marked complexion, brown to grey hair, dark brown to hazel eyes, wart or wen over left eyebrow. Assigned to A. Browne, Dawes Battery. 26/1/1830: Permission to marry John Gardner (Mangles 1820). 1830: Married at St. James, Sydney.
