Jeremiah COFFEE was convicted at Cork, Ireland on 3 Jan 1848 for stealing 16 geese. (Previous for stealing a cow - 3mths gaol). 7yr transportation sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Blenheim' arriving 2 Feb 1849. Aged 17yrs; single; labourer; 4'11"; Roman Catholic; can read a little; fresh complexion, freckled; dk brown hair; grey eyes. Native place: Co. Cork, Ireland. In Colony: No details are recorded on his sheet for Probation Gang or other. Free 5 Jan 1853. Application for Permission to marry: 27 May 1853 - to Mary STEARN (transported per 'Tory'). Approved. Marriage: to Mary Ann STEARN on 4 July 1853 at Hobart, Jeremiah aged 22yrs, Mary aged 21yrs. (ref. 37/1/12 no. 413
