Abraham COHEN was convicted at Middlesex G.D., London on 18 Oct 1832 for receiving stolen property. 14yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Lotus' arriving 16 May 1833. Married man - wife Elizabeth (at native place, London); 5 children - son Isaac COHEN on board same ship for same offence. Aged 68/69 years. 5'4". Jewish religion. Clear Conduct Record in the Colony. Conditional Pardon granted 2 June 1842 no. 490. Abraham COHEN died, Hobart district, 10 Feb 1843 - cause of death stated as dysentery. Aged 80yrs.
