Huntingdon, Bedford & Peterborough Gazette Huntingdonshire, England 15 Jan 1831: SAMUEL COLGRAVE, charged with having stolen 10 live ferrets, 1 spud, and 1 dog, the property of John Jefferies and Thos. Asplin, at Thurleigh.___Transported for life. Ancestry Convict Indents - lists his crime as 'Stealing gun'.????? - same crime stated on his CP. Samuel Colgrave was listed as 28 years old on arrival. Native Place: Hertfordshire. Samuel could read, was protestant, married with 2 male and 3 female children, 5'6¾" tall, sallow complexion, light brown hair, hazel grey eyes, scar on right eyebrow. 20/1/1840: TOL Yass 17/2/1846: TOL Passport, Tumut 10/4/1847: CP.
