Huntingdon, Thursday. John Simon Clark, Thomas Stapleton, William Colley, and John Buck, were next called up for judgment; and, alter a suitable admonition from the Judge, in which he described to-day as a melancholy day for the county of Huntingdon, the two former were  sentenced to fourteen years' transportation, and the two latter to seven years each. English Chronicle, 12 March 1831. Six of the unfortunate men who were convicted at our assizes of machine breaking—viz. John Simon Clark and Thomas Stapleton, for 14 years; William Colley, William Hughes, William Homer, and Wm. Page Wells, for seven years, were removed yesterday se'nnight, in the custody of the governor of the gaol, to Gosport, to be put on hoard the York Hulk for their several destinations.
