Alfred Collins was convicted of having stolen a till from Mr. Pegott, of Kensington along with, Henry Percy and Francis Whittle. Alfred was 15, Francis was 12, and Henry was 16. On arrived in VDL he was put on probation for 15 months at Point Puer (a newly formed penal area for young boys across the way from Port Arthur. Alfred was 4'9" tall, pale complexion, Oval head, dark brown hair, Medium forehead, brown eyebrows, dark brown eyes, medium mouth, chin and nose. His native place was Newington, Surrey. He had a broken front tooth, scar near right side of mouth and on the nose. He was Protestant and could read and write. He also had had previous charges against him. 25/10/1844: Misconduct. 25/8/1847: Misconduct in writing a letter for a boy in which he said that the place was a little hell on earth - 24 hours solitary confinement. There were other misconduct charges and punishments until he was sent to Mr R Shoebridge at Providence Valley. 3/2/1848 TOL 9/2/1850 Expiration of his sentence.
