John COLLINS (alias Timothy HENNESSY) was convicted at Surrey on 3 January 1837 for stealing from the person - a handkerchief. Previous convictions. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Minerva' arriving 20 Sept 1838. Single man; aged 15yrs; 4'6". Native place - Southwark, London. Various work assignments in VDL. 1844: Free Certificate. No. 14. Further offence, Hobart S. C. Dec 1844. Further 7yr transportation sentence. To be sent to Norfolk Island.
