Descriptions from Muster Roll on 30 Aug 1819. Nicholas Collins or Michael Woods, Tried at City Dublin, Mar 1819, 7 years, age 26, native place Dublin, Barber & Hair dresser, 5 ft 8½, hazel eyes, black hair, fair ruddy comp. Very well behaved.

Nicholas COLLINS (also known as Michael WOOD) was convicted at Dublin March 1819. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the ship 'Bencoolen'. Further transferred to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Admiral Cockburn' arriving there Sept 1819. Colony of VDL: Assigned to work service. 20 Dec 1819, a Constable - did not keep order amongst the prisoners. Fined. 8 May 1820, a Constable - neglect of duty. Dismissed from his office of Constable. 27 Dec 1820: Drunkeness. 50 lashes. 13 Nov 1821: Neglect of duty. 8 March 1823: Drunk & disorderly. Reprimanded.
