Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. James Condon, age on arrival, 46, Guildford (2) 1816, Tried Limerick Co., 1815, 7 years. DOB, 1770, native of Limerick, Trade, Farmer. ----------------------------------------------------- Yesterday John Connors, Denis Connors, Maurice Casey, John Fallahee, Tim. Donnoho, Edmond Jourdan, Michael Boyce, and Martin Flanigan, who were charged with burglary in the house of Mr. James Condon, of Ardereney, near Newcastle, on the 6th of September, and taking thereout a musket, were acquitted, in consequence of the prevarication of Condon. The Solicitor General ordered bills of indictment to be immediately prepared by the Crown Solicitor, which having been returned as true bills by the Grand Jury, Condon was instantly put upon his trial for perjury, which being satisfactorily proved to a very respectable Jury, he was found guilty, and sentenced to be transported for seven years to Botany Bay, for which place set out this morning.
