Clearly, mercy was extended to Conneen and he was instead transported to NSW for Life on the ‘Minerva’. Four other prisoners tried at the same County Clare Assizes as Pat Conneen, were transported on the Minerva so they were all together in gaol as well as being on the convict ship. These were: Pat Fitzpatrick (also reprieved from being hanged), John McMahon alias O’Brien, Michael Clancy and Pat Minogue. IN N.S.W: On landing in Sydney in mid December 1817, Cunneen was forwarded to Bringelly, west of Sydney, for distribution. [Col Sec letter dated Dec 30 1819] 1832: Patrick CONEEN, Ticket of Leave.
