Charles Connor was indicted for stealing a quantity of half crowns, the property of John M'Cullough. John M'Cullough deposed, that he had known the prisoner for a long time; witness is a tailor, and lives on the Rocks. The prisoner lately came up from the Coal River, and while he was waiting to obtain some employment in Sydney, witness took him to lodge in the same room with himself; being about to return to England he was in the habit of saving all the sterling money he could procure, which he deposited to the amount of six or seven pounds in a trunk, which stood in the room where he and the prisoner slept, and to which no other person had access. Witness was in the house of Mr. Frazier on the Rocks, from whom he received a few English half crowns, among which was one peculiarly marked, which he immediately recognized as having before been in his possession ; searched his trunk, and missed a number of pieces; knows the half crown, now in Court, to be one that be had for four months before, Andrew Frazier was in the habit of saving all the-sterling money he had for M'Culloch ; knows the prisoner ; he carne into his house, and after drinking some rum, paid for it in a half crown, which he remembered from some particular mark to be one that he given to M'Culloch a long time before; the prisoner had several other half crowns "in his hand ; witness has no doubt of the half crown being the same; it is particularly marked. Guilty- to be transported for three years to Port Macquarie. Sydney Gazette, 19 May 1825.

buried Jamberoo, NSW Catholic Church Cemetery Grave 22 I think the birthdate is wrong. His Baptismal Record for Baptism of CAROLUS CLANCY of N/R on N/R N/R 1786, St Andrews, Dublin it is possible he was baptised aged 5, His parents marriage registration in Parish records is for Marriage of THOS CLANCY of N/R and JUDITH NOWLAN of N/R on 7 February 1782. I don't think he would have been born a year before. These names are the same names on Charles (Carolus) Clancy's baptism record. The name Carolus is Latin for Charles, the Catholic Church used Latin names in their records.
