William Connor was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 14th Jul 1816 and arriving 20th Dec 1816 with 150 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Convict Notes
William CONNOR – per Surry 1 (2), born 1784, native place Kildare, labourer, was convicted of highway robbery. He was tried before Judges Day and Daly in Dublin City on 17 February 1816, and sentenced to death, respited to transportation for life. He was admitted to Kilmainham Gaol on 11 February 1816 (prisoner #2429), and was discharged from the jail on 16 May 1816 to be “sent on board the convict ship” (see Ireland, Prison Registers, 1790-1924; Dublin, Kilmainham 1815-1910).
William Connor was convicted at Dublin City in 1816 and given a Life sentence. Transported to New South Wales on the 'Surrey' arriving 1816. Aged 32yrs of age Trade - a labourer Native place - Kildare
